Why The WebSite?
I am an actual owner of the VantagePoint / Market Technologies software. I had looked at their product for a few months before purchasing and researched on the web. In my research I was never able to find a definitive review of this software. I was able to find some rants on some blogs, but then the staff at VantagePoint would point me to an "authorative review" that was very positive. The problem (I found out later) is all of these sites were also resellers of the software.. So much for unbiased!!! So I decided to spend my own money for this website and marketing to warn any potential buyers to beware. Unlike other websites you may have seen - I have nothing to sell you; no great software or tips. If you see any google ads on the page that reference other software, that is just the advertising that came with this page.
Also - please note I am not telling you whether or not to purchase this software. I am simply passing along my experience and some of the things I found troubling after I purchased the software. The decision to buy is up to you.
The Concept:
I love the concept of the software. The basic premise of VantagePoint is that in our new economy all of our markets are now inter-related. The price of oil directly related to currencies and other financial markets; inflation has a direct impact on the stock market; gold prices have an effect on currencies and the various stock markets around the world. VantagePoint takes outside data, compiles it with historical data and creates graphs and charts to tell you where they think the market is heading..
First Gotcha they do not mention up front: You have to have a subscription with a data provider for VantagePoint to work and that is not covered in the price of the software. There are only 2 data providers they work with and odds are you do not have an account with them. They are Commodity Research Bureau and Commodity Systems Inc.. Price per year for the data feed is $300 if you pay for the annual plan..
The charts provide you with 4 types of predictions:
10 day predicted moving average
5 day predicted moving average
Neural Score (more on this to follow)
Tomorrows high and low of that market
In all of their marketing you will notice they refer to a cross over on their charts. Basically when you see a crossover of their predicted line over the actual moving average.
