Neural Stock Market Forecast:

VantagePoint makes these charts available at http://www.tradertech.com/chartofweek.htm

Now focus on the green line in the above chart.  These lines are drawn from the Neural Calculations.  Before I explain
what is meant my Neural Predictions.  For the Wiki definition click here

Again - I fell in love with the concept and neural predictions are not only found at
Vantage Point.  If we take a very large sampling of data and run it through a computer - we should be able to tell , with some certainty, the next outcome in a data stream.  Confused?  It is really very simple.  Lets say you have a file with
the temperature of your home town at noon for the past 100 years.  That would be a file that contained 36,500 numbers (365 days multiplied by 100).  With all of this data - how close do you think we could predict the temperature of your home town tomorrow.  I would wager we could get within a 10% variance.   Before computers got so fast and so cheap. this would have been an almost impossible task.    But today we can run this calculation within seconds - and we could do it in an in-expensive application such as Excel.

Let me take the temperature analogy a little further because I think it will give you a clear picture of what VantagePoint Software is really doing..  Lets take that 100 years of daily data and answer this question - if the temperature today was higher than the temperature yesterday - will tomorrows temperature be higher or lower than todays.  I am not asking you to tell me what the actual temperature will be, I just want to know if tomorrows will be higher or lowers than today.  Do you think with all of this data you would be right 8 out of 10 times?  Some of you might say that you do not need a computer to be right only 80% of the time..

Well guess what - that is what the green line above is for.  If the line above is equal to 1, then the software is predicting the stock, commodity.or future you are tracking will go up tomorrow.   If the line above is equal to 0, then the software is predicting the stock, commodity.or future you are tracking will go down tomorrow.   That is it..  VantagePoint is not telling you how high ot how low the market will go, only that they are predicting up or down.   I spent a lot of time review this chart and many others and something seemed odd to me..  It seems to me that if the market goes down today, they predict the market will go down tomorrow and if the market went up today - they predict the market will go up tomorrow.  Hmmm..  Almost like "the trend is your friend rule"..  But hey - maybe it is just me..

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF MY ACTUAL REVIEW
If I had spent more time reading the fine print on their page, I would have never handed over my $3000..  I can not blame VantagePoint Software, it is listed at the bottom of their home page.  I just let greed cloud my vision.  On their site, they claim to be able to predict the market will almost 80% accuracy.  Did you know that their guarantee only applies to this part of the software??  Yep - they can tell you with "almost" 80% certainty which direction the market will trade tomorrow.  Not how high or low and not whether or not there will be a 10 day crossover - but only if the market will follow an up day with another up day and vice versa.  Do you need to spend $3000 for this?

Here is the text from the bottom of their home page:
VantagePoint's accuracy statistics were computed on out-of-sample price data utilizing neural networks trained on both single market and intermarket data and relate to the Neural Index which indicates whether the average of tomorrow’s typical price and the typical price of the day after tomorrow (both unknowns at this time) are expected to be higher or lower than the average of yesterday's typical price and the typical price of the day before yesterday.
